Emmitt Thomas (Emmitt Earl Thomas) was born on June 3, 1943 in Angelton, Texas. After going to high school at Marshall (Angleton, TX), Thomas attended Bishop College. Thomas made his professional debut in the AFL in 1966 with the Kansas City Chiefs. He played in the AFL for 4 years, playing for the Kansas City Chiefs the entire time. Thomas also played in the NFL for 9 years, playing for the Kansas City Chiefs the entire time.

Most people believe that 1974 was Emmitt Thomas's best year, as he picked off 12 passes and ran back 2 interceptions for touchdowns.
