Born on June 26, 1918 in Ogden, Utah, Elmer Singleton (Bert Elmer Singleton) played for the Boston Braves, Pittsburgh Pirates, Washington Senators and Chicago Cubs over the course of his 8 year career. Singleton broke into the bigs on August 20, 1945 with the Boston Braves, and put up a 6.31 ERA in 67 innings pitched in 1947, his rookie year.
