Born on August 25, 1883 in Southport, Indiana, Elmer Brown (Elmer Young Brown) played for the St. Louis Browns and Brooklyn Superbas over the course of his 5 year career. Brown broke into the bigs on September 16, 1911 with the St. Louis Browns, and put up a 2.99 ERA in 120.1 innings pitched in 1912, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Elmer Brown's best season was 1912, when he posted a 2.99 ERA.
