Born on September 21, 1910 in Norcatur, Kansas, Elden Auker (Elden LeRoy Auker) played for the Detroit Tigers, Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Browns over the course of his 10 year career. Auker broke into the bigs on August 10, 1933 with the Detroit Tigers, and put up a 5.24 ERA in 55 innings pitched in 1933, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Elden Auker's best season was 1934, when he posted a 3.42 ERA, won 15 games and struck out 86 batters.
