Eddie Bressoud (Edward Francis Bressoud) was born on May 2, 1932 in Los Angeles, California. He made his Major League debut on June 14, 1956 for the New York Giants. In 1956, his rookie year, he hit .227 with 0 home runs and 9 RBI. Bressoud played for the New York Giants, San Francisco Giants, Boston Red Sox, New York Mets and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 12 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Eddie Bressoud's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1964, when he slugged 15 home runs, hit for a .293 average and knocked in 55 runs. However, others believe that it was 1962, when he hit for a .277 average and knocked in 68 runs.
