Ed Stevens (Edward Lee Stevens) was born on January 12, 1925 in Galveston, Texas. He made his Major League debut on August 9, 1945 for the Brooklyn Dodgers. In 1945, his rookie year, he hit .274 with 4 home runs and 29 RBI. Stevens played for the Brooklyn Dodgers and Pittsburgh Pirates over the course of his 6 year career.

Most people believe that Ed Stevens's best season was 1948, when he knocked in 69 runs.
