Born on March 17, 1888 in Summerville, Pennsylvania, Ed Klepfer (Edward Lloyd Klepfer) played for the New York Highlanders, New York Yankees, Cleveland Indians and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 6 year career. Klepfer broke into the bigs on July 4, 1911 with the New York Highlanders, and put up a 2.26 ERA in 55.2 innings pitched in 1915, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Ed Klepfer's best season was 1917, when he posted a 2.37 ERA, won 14 games and struck out 66 batters.
