Born on July 23, 1899 in Benton, Kentucky, Ed Holley (Edward Edgar Holley) played for the Chicago Cubs, Philadelphia Phillies and Pittsburgh Pirates over the course of his 4 year career. Holley broke into the bigs on May 24, 1928 with the Chicago Cubs, and put up a 3.95 ERA in 228 innings pitched in 1932, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Ed Holley's best season was 1932, when he posted a 3.95 ERA, won 11 games and struck out 87 batters.
