Born on January 25, 1918 in Selma, Louisiana, Ed Head (Edward Marvin Head) played for the Brooklyn Dodgers for his entire 5 year career. Head broke into the bigs on July 27, 1940 with the Brooklyn Dodgers, and put up a 3.56 ERA in 136.2 innings pitched in 1942, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Ed Head's best season was 1942, when he posted a 3.56 ERA, won 10 games and struck out 78 batters.
