Ed Giovanola (Edward Thomas Giovanola) was born on March 4, 1969 in Los Gatos, California. He made his Major League debut on September 10, 1995 for the Atlanta Braves. In 1998, his rookie year, he hit .230 with 1 home run and 9 RBI. Giovanola played for the Atlanta Braves and San Diego Padres over the course of his 5 year career.
