Ed Fernandes (Edward Paul Fernandes) was born on March 11, 1918 in Oakland, California. He made his Major League debut on June 9, 1940 for the Pittsburgh Pirates. Fernandes played for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 2 year career.
