Ed Culpepper (Robert Edward Culpepper) was born on January 21, 1934 in Bradenton, Florida. After going to high school at Manatee (Bradenton, FL), Culpepper attended the University of Alabama. Culpepper made his professional debut in the NFL in 1958 with the Chicago Cardinals. He played in the NFL for 4 years, playing for the Chicago Cardinals, St. Louis Cardinals and Minnesota Vikings over the course of his 4 year NFL career.Culpepper also played in the AFL for 2 years, playing for the Houston Oilers the entire time.

Most people believe that 1958 was Ed Culpepper's best year, as he recovered 3 opponents fumbles.
