Earl Putnam (Earl Robert Putnam) was born on January 10, 1932 in Cincinnati, Ohio. After going to high school at Hughes (Cincinnati, OH), Putnam attended Arizona State University. Putnam made his professional debut in the NFL in 1957 with the Chicago Cardinals. He played for the Chicago Cardinals for his entire 1 year career.
