Eagle Tweaks Sports Hernia

No, not Donovan McNabb. L.J. Smith was carted off the field at practice today after apparently re-injuring the sports injury that was surgically repaired on May 31. The injury occurred during a non-contact drill in which Smith had just caught a pass from A.J. Feeley.

If Smith's injury is serious, then this is a significant blow to the Philadelphia Eagles ' offense. Smith is a very good receiving Tight End, and his backups are a significant downgrade.

I'm a Redskins' fan, but I don't wish injuries on anybody (well, maybe for someone on the Cowboys...). I hope this injury doesn't prove to be serious.

BTW, i dunno if the Smith Injury is a killer one...Matt Schoebel is a good receiving TE and Brent Celek (Rookie) has looked decent and is the heir apparent to LJ (Who is in the final year of his deal and not very happy)

Smith has never lived up to expectations and won't be an eagle next year...

While I wish LJ the best, I can't say I'm terribly disappointed

would you consider Chad Lewis, Todd Pinkston, James Thrash, Charles Johnson, Torrence Small, Freddie Mitchell, Billy McMullen and so on limited receiving talent... because that limited receiving talent went to 3 straight NFC championship games and a superbowl...

Yes, the above mentioned receiving corps is limited on talent. It wasn't the receivers (outside of TO) that has put them in any playoff run.
