ESPN Showed no Class in Interviewing Victor Conte For the Arizona/Oregon Game

I understand ESPN's obsession with breaking news story, heck, it's probably the closest thing to airing porn on cable TV. However, last night, Oregon lost to Arizona 34-24 with Dennis Dixon out with a twisted knee, all but dashing their hopes of a national title. Midway through the 3rd quarter, I see Erin Andrews on the sidelines talking to none other than Victor Conte! So they made a 5 minute conversation out of the whole Barry Bonds deal, with Oregon driving. That's almost a direct copy to the A-Rod deal during the World Series. You're in the middle of a huge upset, on national TV, in which it will be replayed for future generations, and you can't wait until AFTER the game to do it?
This just increased my frustration with not just ESPN, but sports TV in general. It's become like regular news, we're the first to break this story, we have 400 experts on our side, we have talking heads. It's not needed! They had 2 hours of Barry Bonds coverage during Sportscenter, and they let it seep into a huge college football game....with Erin Andrews.
A monumental upset, and that showed no class. You could've talked about how Oregon can rally against Arizona, but instead you talked about steroids with a man involved with Barry Bonds. That's like Jim Gray talking to Pete Rose about gambling problems in the 1999 World Series.
What happened to reporting? What happened to not overdoing a story that's already been broken, and had 2 hours worth of detail? I can't watch a full sports event on TV because of this.
Can ArmchairGM come up with a TV station just so I can watch that channel? Because if ESPN, or FOX, or CBS, continues this run of "I got to tell it first", as if they are little 6 year olds, then watching sports from this generation on, is hosed.
BTW: RIP Joe Nuxhall, Reds broadcaster, died of cancer yesterday.
