[edit] Biography

Born on August 17, 1896 in Chicago, Illinois, Doug McWeeny (Douglas Lawrence McWeeny) played for the Chicago White Sox, Brooklyn Robins and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 8 year career. McWeeny broke into the bigs on April 24, 1921 with the Chicago White Sox, and put up a 6.08 ERA in 97.2 innings pitched in 1921, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Doug McWeeny's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1928, when he posted a 3.17 ERA, won 14 games and struck out 79 batters. However, others believe that it was 1926, when he posted a 3.04 ERA, won 11 games and struck out 96 batters.
