[edit] Biography

Born on June 8, 1957 in Ashland, Kentucky, Don Robinson (Don Allen Robinson) played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, San Francisco Giants, Philadelphia Phillies and California Angels over the course of his 15 year career. Robinson broke into the bigs on April 10, 1978 with the Pittsburgh Pirates, and put up a 3.47 ERA in 228.1 innings pitched in 1978, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Don Robinson's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1987, when he posted a 3.42 ERA, won 11 games, notched 19 saves and struck out 79 batters. However, others believe that it was 1988, when he posted a 2.45 ERA, won 10 games and struck out 122 batters.
