Doc Farrell (Edward Stephen Farrell) was born on December 26, 1901 in Johnson City, New York. He made his Major League debut on June 15, 1925 for the New York Giants. In 1926, his rookie year, he hit .287 with 2 home runs and 23 RBI. Farrell played for the New York Giants, Boston Braves, St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs, New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox over the course of his 9 year career.

Most people believe that Doc Farrell's best season was 1927, when he hit for a .316 average and knocked in 92 runs.
