Dick Whitman (Dick Corwin Whitman) was born on November 9, 1920 in Woodburn, Oregon. He made his Major League debut on April 16, 1946 for the Brooklyn Dodgers. In 1946, his rookie year, he hit .260 with 2 home runs and 31 RBI. Whitman played for the Brooklyn Dodgers and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 6 year career.
