Dick Brown (Richard McClure Brown) was born on May 27, 1907 in Waverly, Iowa. After going to high school at Cedar Rapids (IA), Brown attended the University of Iowa. Brown made his professional debut in the NFL in 1930 with the Portsmouth Spartans. He played for the Portsmouth Spartans for his entire 1 year career.
