Dick Allen (Richard Anthony Allen) was born on March 8, 1942 in Wampum, Pennsylvania. He made his Major League debut on September 3, 1963 for the Philadelphia Phillies. In 1964, his rookie year, he hit .318 with 29 home runs and 91 RBI.
