Dick Afflis (William Richard Afflis) was born on June 27, 1929 in Lafayette, Indiana. After going to high school at Shortride (Indianapolis, IN), Afflis attended Purdue University and the University of Nevada-Reno. Afflis made his professional debut in the NFL in 1951 with the Green Bay Packers. He played for the Green Bay Packers for his entire 4 year career.

Most people believe that 1954 was Dick Afflis's best year.
