Derrell Palmer (Derrell F. Palmer) was born on August 27, 1922 in Breckenridge, Texas. After going to high school at Albany (TX), Palmer attended Texas Christian University. Palmer made his professional debut in the AAFC in 1946 with the New York Yankees. He played in the AAFC for 4 years, playing for the New York Yankees and Cleveland Browns over the course of his 4 year AAFC career.Palmer also played in the NFL for 4 years, playing for the Cleveland Browns the entire time.

Most people believe that 1951 was Derrell Palmer's best year.
