Derek Russell (Derek Dwayne Russell) was born on June 22, 1969 in Little Rock, Arkansas. After going to high school at Central (Little Rock, AR), Russell attended the University of Arkansas. Russell made his professional debut in the NFL in 1991 with the Denver Broncos. He played for the Denver Broncos, Houston Oilers and Tennessee Oilers over the course of his 7 year career.
Most people believe that 1993 was Derek Russell's best year, as he hauled in 44 receptions, had 719 receiving yards and ran back a fumble for a touchdown.
