Del Gainer (Dellos Clinton Gainer) was born on November 10, 1886 in Montrose, West Virginia. He made his Major League debut on October 2, 1909 for the Detroit Tigers. In 1911, his rookie year, he hit .302 with 2 home runs and 25 RBI. Gainer played for the Detroit Tigers, Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 10 year career.
