Davy Force (David W. Force) was born on July 27, 1849 in New York, New York. He made his Major League debut on May 5, 1871 for the Washington Olympics. In 1871, his rookie year, he hit .278 with 0 home runs and 29 RBI. Force played for the Washington Olympics, Troy Haymakers, Baltimore Canaries, Chicago White Stockings, Philadelphia Athletics, New York Mutuals, St. Louis Brown Stockings, Buffalo Bisons and Washington Senators over the course of his 15 year career.

Most people believe that Davy Force's best season was 1875, when he hit for a .311 average.
