Dave Parks (David Wayne Parks) was born on December 25, 1941 in Muenster, Texas. After going to high school at Abilene (TX), Parks attended Texas Technical University. Parks made his professional debut in the NFL in 1964 with the San Francisco 49ers. He played for the New Orleans Saints, San Francisco 49ers and Houston Oilers over the course of his 10 year career.

Most people believe that 1965 was Dave Parks's best year, as he hauled in 80 receptions, had 1344 receiving yards and caught 12 TD passes.
