Dave Collins (David S. Collins) was born on October 20, 1952 in Rapid City, South Dakota. He made his Major League debut on June 7, 1975 for the California Angels. In 1975, his rookie year, he hit .266 with 3 home runs and 29 RBI. Collins played for the California Angels, Seattle Mariners, Cincinnati Reds, New York Yankees, Toronto Blue Jays, Oakland Athletics, Detroit Tigers and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 16 year career.

Most people believe that Dave Collins's best season was 1980, when he stole 79 bases and hit for a .303 average.
