Dave Butz (David Roy Butz) was born on June 23, 1950 in Lafayette, Alabama. After going to high school at Maine South (Park Ridge, IL), Butz attended Purdue University. Butz made his professional debut in the NFL in 1973 with the St. Louis Cardinals. He played for the Washington Redskins and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 16 year career.
Most people believe that 1983 was Dave Butz's best year, as he recorded 11.5 sacks.
