Danny Hoffman (Daniel John Hoffman) was born on March 2, 1880 in Canton, Connecticut. He made his Major League debut on April 20, 1903 for the Philadelphia Athletics. In 1903, his rookie year, he hit .246 with 2 home runs and 22 RBI. Hoffman played for the Philadelphia Athletics, New York Highlanders and St. Louis Browns over the course of his 9 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Danny Hoffman's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1907, when he stole 30 bases. However, others believe that it was 1905, when he stole 46 bases.
