Danny Fortmann (Daniel John Fortmann) was born on April 11, 1916 in Pearl River, New York. After going to high school at Pearl River (NY), Fortmann attended Colgate University. Fortmann made his professional debut in the NFL in 1936 with the Chicago Bears. He played for the Chicago Bears for his entire 8 year career.
Most people believe that 1942 was Danny Fortmann's best year, as he picked off 4 passes and ran back a fumble for a touchdown.
