Danny Cater (Danny Anderson Cater) was born on February 25, 1940 in Austin, Texas. He made his Major League debut on April 14, 1964 for the Philadelphia Phillies. In 1964, his rookie year, he hit .296 with 1 home run and 13 RBI. Cater played for the Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago White Sox, Kansas City Athletics, Oakland Athletics, New York Yankees, Boston Red Sox and St. Louis Cardinals over the course of his 12 year career.

Most people believe that Danny Cater's best season was 1970, when he hit for a .301 average and knocked in 76 runs.
