Dan Naulty
[edit] Biography
Born on January 6, 1970 in Los Angeles, California, Dan Naulty (Daniel Donovan Naulty) played for the Minnesota Twins and New York Yankees over the course of his 4 year career. Naulty broke into the bigs on April 2, 1996 with the Minnesota Twins, and put up a 3.79 ERA in 57 innings pitched in 1996, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Dan Naulty's best season was 1996, when he posted a 3.79 ERA and struck out 56 batters.
Naulty was also one of the players named in baseball's Mitchell Report. Naulty was one of the few players that fully cooperated with the Mitchell Report. He admitted to using steroids for seven years and HGH for one year. He claims to have began using steroids in 1993, while in the minor leagues, to put on weight. He also says that he procured steroids and HGH from illegal dealers, and that he believes using the steroids made him injury-prone. According to the report, Naulty was very remorseful for using steroids, telling investigators for the Mitchell Report that, "if I could give back a little bit of something good then I would like to."
