Dan Lanphear (George Daniel Lanphear) was born on January 24, 1938 in Madison, Wisconsin. After going to high school at West (Madison, WI), Lanphear attended the University of Wisconsin. Lanphear made his professional debut in the AFL in 1960 with the Houston Oilers. He played for the Houston Oilers for his entire 2 year career.
