[edit] Biography

D.J. Hall is a senior wide receiver at the University of Alabama. Over his junior and senior years, Hall caught 120 passes for just under 2,000 yards, and 11 touchdowns.

In high school, Hall was rated as one of the top 50 prepsters by the Orlando Sentinel. Like many prospects, Hall was a multi-sport talent; Hall was a three-time All-State basketball selection, while catching 25 touchdowns over his last two years in high school.

Hall started ten games as a freshman at Alabama, including a team-high five receptions in the Music City Bowl. In 2005, as a sophomore, Hall was the Tide's leading receiver, and his 676 yards was the ninth-best in school history. He was also the first Alabama receiver to snag 10 or more catches in consecutive games, and earned second-team All-SEC honors by the AP.

In his junior year, Hall set a new single-season receiving yards record at Alabama, putting up 1,104 yards. Hall lead the Tide in catches seven out of 12 games, and in receiving yards eight out of 12. He became the first player in Alabama history to record five straight 100-yard receiving games recording 100+ yards against Arkansas, Florida, Duke, Ole Miss and Tennessee -- previously, the record was at three games. His seven 100-yard games gave him ten for his career, shattering Ozzie Newsome's school record (six).

Hall followed up his superb 2006 campaign with a similarly strong 2007 season, including enormous games versus the University of Arkansas (six catches, 172 yards, 2 touchdowns) and the University of Tennessee (13-185-2). He finished the season with incredibly career numbers: 190 catches, 2,895 receiving yards and 17 touchdowns.

[edit] Scouting Report

Hall has broken just about every school receiving record at Alabama and done it in an offensive system that was more run oriented. Hall has great hands, outstanding speed (4.49 in the 40) and at 6'2" has adequate height to be an NFL receiver. He has improved every year while at Alabama and has done it against some of the best competition in the country in the SEC. What Hall does lack though is prototypical NFL size and strength. He will have to show teams that he he can handle himself physically. Also, Hall will have to address possible issues about his work ethic that have been raised while at Bama.
