Cy Wentworth (Shirley P. Wentworth) was born on January 2, 1904 in Salem, Massachusetts. After going to high school at Salem (MA) and Thayer Academy (South Braintree, MA), Wentworth attended the University of New Hampshire. Wentworth made his professional debut in the NFL in 1925 with the Providence Steam Roller. He played for the Providence Steam Roller and Boston Bulldogs over the course of his 3 year career.
