Cotton Letner (Robert Gene Letner) was born on January 26, 1937 in Ten Mile, Tennessee. After going to high school at Meigs County (Decatur, TN), Letner attended the University of Tennessee. Letner made his professional debut in the AFL in 1961 with the Buffalo Bills. He played for the Buffalo Bills for his entire 1 year career.
