Chuck Mcmurtry (Charles McMurtry) was born on February 15, 1937 in Chaneller, Oklahoma. After going to high school at Whittier (CA), Mcmurtry attended Fullerton College and Whittier College. Mcmurtry made his professional debut in the AFL in 1960 with the Buffalo Bills. He played for the Oakland Raiders and Buffalo Bills over the course of his 4 year career.
