Born on October 1, 1967 in Port Arthur, Texas, Chuck McElroy (Charles Dwayne McElroy) played for the Philadelphia Phillies, Chicago Cubs, Cincinnati Reds, California Angels, Chicago White Sox, Anaheim Angels, Colorado Rockies, New York Mets, Baltimore Orioles and San Diego Padres over the course of his 13 year career. McElroy broke into the bigs on September 4, 1989 with the Philadelphia Phillies, and put up a 1.95 ERA in 101.1 innings pitched in 1991, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Chuck McElroy's best season was 1991, when he posted a 1.95 ERA and struck out 92 batters.
