[edit] Biography

Chuck Knoblauch (Edward Charles Knoblauch) was born on July 7, 1968 in Houston, Texas. He made his Major League debut on April 9, 1991 for the Minnesota Twins. In 1991, his rookie year, he hit .281 with 1 home run and 50 RBI. Knoblauch played for the Minnesota Twins, New York Yankees and Kansas City Royals over the course of his 12 year career.

There is some disagreement on what was Chuck Knoblauch's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1996, when he stole 45 bases, hit for a .341 average and knocked in 72 runs. However, others believe that it was 1997, when he stole 62 bases, hit for a .291 average and knocked in 58 runs.

Knoblauch was also one of the players named in baseball's Mitchell Report. According to the report, Yankees assistant strength coach Brian McNamee obtained HGH from former Mets clubhouse attendant Kirk Radomski for Knoblauch in 2001. McNamee claims that he personally injected Knoblauch seven to nine times with HGH. The report also states that Knoblauch paid Radomski for the HGH via Jason Grimsley and also through McNamee on an occasion or two.

Like most players, Knoblauch did not agree to meet with investigators for the Mitchell Report.
