Born on February 19, 1944 in Knoxville, Tennessee, Chris Zachary (William Christopher Zachary) played for the Houston Colt .45s, Houston Astros, Kansas City Royals, St. Louis Cardinals, Detroit Tigers and Pittsburgh Pirates over the course of his 9 year career. Zachary broke into the bigs on April 11, 1963 with the Houston Colt .45s, and put up a 4.89 ERA in 57 innings pitched in 1963, his rookie year.
