Charley Toogood (Charles Wayne Toogood) was born on July 16, 1927 in North Platte, Nebraska. After going to high school at North Platte (NE), Toogood attended the University of Nebraska. Toogood made his professional debut in the NFL in 1951 with the Los Angeles Rams. He played for the Los Angeles Rams and Chicago Cardinals over the course of his 7 year career.

Most people believe that 1953 was Charley Toogood's best year.
