Born on December 1, 1925 in Anadarko, Oklahoma, Cal McLish (Calvin Coolidge Julius Caesar Tuskahoma McLish) played for the Brooklyn Dodgers, Pittsburgh Pirates, Chicago Cubs, Cleveland Indians, Cincinnati Reds, Chicago White Sox and Philadelphia Phillies over the course of his 15 year career. McLish broke into the bigs on May 13, 1944 with the Brooklyn Dodgers, and put up a 7.82 ERA in 84 innings pitched in 1944, his rookie year.

Most people believe that Cal McLish's best season was 1959, when he posted a 3.63 ERA, won 19 games and struck out 113 batters.
