Born on September 29, 1955 in Van Nuys, California, Byron McLaughlin (Byron Scott McLaughlin) played for the Seattle Mariners and California Angels over the course of his 5 year career. McLaughlin broke into the bigs on September 18, 1977 with the Seattle Mariners, and put up a 4.37 ERA in 107 innings pitched in 1978, his rookie year.
Most people believe that Byron McLaughlin's best season was 1979, when he posted a 4.22 ERA, notched 14 saves and struck out 74 batters.
