Born on October 23, 1979 in Torrance, California, Bud Smith (Robert Allan Smith) played for the St. Louis Cardinals for his entire 2 year career. Smith broke into the bigs on June 10, 2001 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 3.83 ERA in 84.2 innings pitched in 2001, his rookie year.
