Born on May 9, 1882 in Brockton, Massachusetts, Buck O'Brien (Thomas Joseph O'Brien) played for the Boston Red Sox and Chicago White Sox over the course of his 3 year career. O'Brien broke into the bigs on September 9, 1911 with the Boston Red Sox, and put up a 2.58 ERA in 275.2 innings pitched in 1912, his rookie year.
