Bruins Waive Two, Sign One

The Bruins have waived Wade Brookbank and Jeff Hoggan this afternoon. If they clear, it appears likely that they will play in Worcester against the Sharks on Saturday. Coming the other way, Petr Tenkrat was called up. He will have to go through re-entry waivers though and this may spell the end of Petr in Boston.

Currently, Tenkrat has 2-7-9 (7 games) totals and is being paid $550,000 on a one-way contract. If claimed off waivers, the team will only have to pay $225,000 for the year while Boston will pay the remainder. This of course, will allow teams to take a risk on him.

Without Brookbank, the team has no legitimate fighters except Chara; and while I would love to see him pummel other players, it's not in the team's best interest.

Tenkrat could be an interesting addition to the team's line-up. Hoggan played on the fourth line and only averaged 7:00 minutes of ice time, but the situation would be a waste of Tenkrat's talent. It would be nice to see Tenkrat move up to the 3rd line and replace Donovan. This might benefit Kessel greatly at even strength, as his current line mates are not producing. posted by TreeBob at Friday, November
