The Cleveland Browns got off to what can only be described as a terrible start this year. While 2-6 may seem like a normal Browns record at the halfway point to the casual NFL observer, Browns fans had high hopes this season.
Now that Week 9 has come and gone with a win over the Atlanta Falcons, Browns fans can once again get caught up in a false sense of sometime magical happening on the shores of Lake Erie.
Here's How:
Week 10: The Defending Champs come to town for the first Cleveland/Pittsburgh game of the year. Who would have thought this late season rivalry game would come with both teams at 3-6? Last place is at stake and the Browns have the momentum. Browns move to 4-6.
Week 11: Another divisional rival comes rolling into Northern Ohio. The Bengals are perhaps the most inconsistant team in the league and got the best of the Browns this time. The Browns keep things rolling and make it three in a row. Browns move to 5-6
Week 12: Third home game in a row, but the Browns face a solid KC team. Browns fall to 5-7
Week 13: It's been only a few weeks since the first matchup, but it's time again for the Black and Silver. But this time in the season, Charlie Batch is starting for the Black & Gold. Browns move to 6-7
Week 14: Early in the season the Browns came within one point of putting an early dent in what's been a ridiculously ridiculous (yeah, that's right) Ravens campaign. Time for some revenge, right? No, probably not. Browns fall to 6-8
Week 15: This is the critical game for the Browns run at .500. Their last home game, this time against the Bucs. I think they might suprise in this one. Browns move to 7-8
Week 16: Does anything look better on an NFL schedule than a winter vacation for a scrimmage in Houston? Browns move to 8-8
So there it is. You're 100% proof that Browns fans can once again get their hopes up and have their dreams crushed twice in one season. I love Ohio.
See you in the playoffs!
