Bobby Thomson (Robert Brown Thomson) was born on October 25, 1923 in Glasgow, Scotland. He made his Major League debut on September 9, 1946 for the New York Giants. In 1947, his rookie year, he hit .283 with 29 home runs and 85 RBI. Thomson played for the New York Giants, Milwaukee Braves, Chicago Cubs, Boston Red Sox and Baltimore Orioles over the course of his 15 year career.

Most people believe that Bobby Thomson's best season was 1949, when he slugged 27 home runs, hit for a .309 average and knocked in 109 runs.
