[edit] Biography

Born on May 24, 1878 in Bedford, Indiana, Bob Wicker (Robert Kitridge Wicker) played for the St. Louis Cardinals, Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds over the course of his 6 year career. Wicker broke into the bigs on August 11, 1901 with the St. Louis Cardinals, and put up a 3.19 ERA in 152.1 innings pitched in 1902, his rookie year.

There is some disagreement on what was Bob Wicker's most productive season. Some believe that it was 1903, when he posted a 2.96 ERA, won 20 games and struck out 113 batters. However, others believe that it was 1905, when he posted a 2.02 ERA, won 13 games and struck out 86 batters.
